Yay I finished the sketch. I like how she came out :) Only her umbrella still seems a bit odd to me. Her pants took less strokes than the rest of her too, so the line thickness is a bit whacked, but that's fine I guess. haha.

She's supposed to be holding an umbrella though, and barmaid's dress was seriously the last thing I was thinking of her holding. I really don't know why I drew it. haha. I feel like drawing some other type of clothing since I draw dresses too often.

Drew this to draw the bunny mostly. I asked Diana for a random object and she said "Velveteen Rabbit," so here we are. The boy feels like a 10 year old or something though instead of a 5 year old. :( His body just feels out of proportion. And the bunny is not really resting correctly :(

The only thing I like about it is her face and hair. The armor is an ongoing attempt to cover up her messed up anatomy/posture, and then the armor is kind of crappy and I didn't bother to clean it. x( har. Maybe tomorrow. The shield could really use a pattern, but I haven't tried to learn any at all so I fail horribly. Not even sure where to start :(

I drew this a couple days ago. It's your every day tank and wizard!

I ended up drawing the girl again. Not finished yet.

There are some inconsistencies since I didn't have my previous drawing at hand. Her cloak is a little longer and her dress is only one layer instead of two. Gonna fix them later. Also, the clouds are crap. I also don't know how to draw a cool moon. :(

The picture is also off-center. :( I was drawing a lot of stuff and ended up doing this, so it wasn't very planned. haha.

To be honest, this is kind of a revisit of how I used to imagine Norcrel looking as, with the hair, the staff and the sword. He didn't have a tattoo/marking, though. haha. Anyway, I don't quite like it as much anymore, especially the hair. I kind of don't like how his face looks either, doesn't really fit what I imagine now. I never had a strong picture of how he should look on his face though. lol.

The premise of his story is kind of lame, actually (lots of god-moding), but for some reason I'm still interested in it. The focus of the story is not on his god-moding but on how powerless someone like him can be even with that much power. Moreover he can only god-mode because of concepts that can allow other people to god-mode too. haha.

Maybe I'll tell it sometime, since I've been thinking about it on and off for years now since high school (maybe middle school?)

It might be funny to note that he looked like a giraffe for some time with the markings on him. I tried to change it so it didn't look so much like it, but maybe you can still tell. HAHA.

Oh yeah, the guy in the corner is supposed to be Ginko from Mushishi. I stopped drawing him since the eyes didn't look right to me, and then I started on this guy.

Haha. I was going to post this up finished yesterday but then I decided it SUCKED so I'm cleaning it up and redrawing sections of it. I have to fix the girl's camisole and redraw the pockets on their pants before I upload the completed work to DeviantArt.

Did a practice where I trace a basic skeleton on a model (like a photograph), toggled it off, tried to draw the same figure, and then turned it back on to see where I messed up. THEREFORE. In the end this picture was basically traced since I would fix myself when I saw errors, and so I can take no credit for it. :( haha.

Here's a larger resolution image, since I accidentally uploaded it I guess I mind as well post it. And here's the reference photo. If you superimpose my drawing on it it's pretty obvious that I basically traced it. I COULD upload some intermediate steps where I HORRIBLY DISFIGURE some part of her, but I don't think thats necessary. HAHA.

I got bored so I started a bunch of really rough skeleton sketches, then I started going back and doing more detail on each, and everytime I got bored with what I was drawing I'd switch to another skeleton. Went kind of back and forth a lot. haha. I really liked the screaming guy while I was drawing his face, then I realized he was unproportional :( So... either the skeleton was also unproportional, or I just modified little by little until it became unproportional. Probably the latter.

More drawing during calc class.

Something happened to my scanner, and now when it scans there's lines on it. D: I'll try re-scanning later. It seems like if I replug in the scanner the... lines change places. So maybe it'll fix itself later or something? ( ._.)a

Decided I needed to draw more... accented stuff, as in the picture isn't always from some kind of objective view like most of my pictures are. He looks kind of weird. haha. :(

I was drawing some guy in a stance. Then I drew a stick. Then the stick turned into a scythe. Then the guy turned into a reaper. Then I decided to make it funny and drew a bag that you generally see with runaways or vagabonds. HAHA. =_= Was interesting doing the stance but I think I messed it up in the end.

It was getting late, so I thought "Why not go all the way" and stay up even LATER. Whoo! :D Been a while since I really used my tablet to do anything, so I did a quick guy and did some quick shading using a method Scott Ramsoomair (writer/artist of VGcats) demonstrated. I did a pretty shabby job of it but it was a good practice. I didn't want to spend that much time on it anyway, seeing as how it's 3 am now and I should get up at 8:30. haha. Good night.

I got bored in class and decided to do an exercise in drawing the same person over and over, since I never do. I ended up failing pretty hard, but it helped. The last few I drew of the same person would always start to look better and more similar to each other. :D

I like the upper right and lower left ones the best. :D Her full-body sketch makes her look like a GUY. kind of. haha. The reference for clothing was the girl sitting in front of me in Calc 3.

No reference for this guy. I think I was thinking of someone while I drew his hair but I don't remember anymore. haha. His eyes on the full-body sketch make him look like a girl. At least to me. They're also kind of inconsistent with the rest of the sketches. I didn't bother to fix them :(

Har. I think they came out pretty well. The guy's mouth is kind of weird, I think. Tried to draw teeth in but I couldn't figure out a way to make it not cartoony (as in chibi-like smile). The guy's head is also kind of squeezed. I also drew a box around where his nose would be shaded, but I didn't for the girl, so he looks kind of awkward. haha.

I COLORED HER AND THEN SHE LOOKED REALLY CREEPY. :( I was trying to color the same way Ian McConville did in this video. He's the guy who drew MacHall and now does Three Panel Soul. He became a really good artist :D (Saw MacHall when it first came out and I thought the art was so-so.) In the video he does it so much better than I can even hope to do at my level. haha.

Har. I was thinking of Pani Poni Dash when I drew the face. Otherwise the picture was only ok-interesting to draw. Never really drew something in a dress like that but I've drawn something similar so it feels kind of bland. This kind of drawing makes me want to do some action shots or something. D: haha.

Her leg on the right is too far out, I think, but I'm tired of drawing legs too close together because I'm afraid of awkwardness, then my people never really feel quite right and it becomes really hard to draw PANTS. =_=

HAR HAR HAR. So... I decided to reference stuff and draw something, and I ended up doing a knight.

I like how it came out, for a first try. haha. His legs were really dull after I drew the leggings from the reference so I tried to change a few things. His feet still ended up looking kind of flat though and his shin area looks too stiff. :(

Took about an hour and a half to do draw this. Was fun though :) I think I'm doing a concert violinist next.

This girl, who hates it when people smoke in her presence. Nothing romantic or any of that love/hate crap. They'd actually be side characters, I think. Hmm. No idea. haha. Anyway, to be honest, I don't really like how either of them look (they don't look how I want them to, in other words) but the pictures came out ok. The girl's eyes look kind of distorted I think, but I like how the sweater tied around her waist came out, even though I didn't draw the whole thing.

And... that's it. I got lazy and didn't scan and upload the rest of the pictures because they're crappy. Yay?

Har. I was gonna post this yesterday but the internet connection died at night. haha.

I drew a whole lot of pictures, most of which sucked. This is about the only thing I could really come up with. :( lol. I drew it in less than a minute. NEW IDEA that came up. This guy is so lonely and messed up that one day he starts to see a girl. He's still pretty normal (in the head) at the time and he realizes fast that she's just a hallucination, so he ignores her. Slowly he starts to accept her presence, and one day she puts her hand on his shoulder and he actually feels it, so he decides that this is the point of insanity (He's now crazy! Yay!) except in the story she actually did become real. :O BUT I SHAN'T RUIN THE STORY. the one I'll probably end up never telling. HAHA.

Hee. Her hand is messed up - too small and I can't handle getting the last joint of her finger. haha. I wanna finish this one too. :D I drew more of the picture yesterday, but... I'm getting stuck. Noes.

Hee. I wanted to draw kind of... rigid fingers like I've seen a lot of other artists do. I actually don't like that style so much, since it feels like they have plates for fingers instead of... round fingers. I didn't really emulate it very well. I tend to like softer-looking hands better. Still, drawing with the rigid-finger idea in my head helped me draw some better hands. The finger sizes and spacing between them are a bit unreal though. D: Compared to real hands, that is.

I should be getting back to my schedule of drawing daily now. :D Whee.

Har. I had to run a few tests at work today, and the program that we use is obnoxious and I can't do anything else while it runs because it uses the entire screen, so that left me some time to draw. :D

This girl came first. I was still feeling kind of in a slump and didn't feel like drawing anything.

Well... not that I didn't want to draw anything, but... I felt discouraged for some reason. haha. Anyway, I decided to start how I usually do when I have no idea what I want to do, and that is... drawing eyes. And then it ended up like this. I stopped drawing it though because her face took up the entire sheet of paper and I couldn't do much with her except draw shoulders. haha.

So... then I drew this:

I was gonna draw a background and whatnot but then I had to go home. :( I really like how it turned out, seeing as how I was just messing around and she looked like a blob with... a human head at the beginning. haha. I was thinking of making her hold a knife and have some dead bodies behind her in light of the new Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni season coming out, buuuuttt... this was at work. haha. And sometimes people come to talk to me in my cubicle. (They know I draw and they're actually pretty cool about it, but... yeah. haha.) Anyway, I was gonna draw it in the perspective of a parent for something I'd title "Growing Up." Haha. I'm not sure if I'll get that far... since even though I like it, there are things about her that I feel like are a bit off.

I need to start reference sketching and copying again. haha. I feel like I've hit a peak until I learn how things either look in real life or how other people more experienced than I am draw it.

It's not done yet, and I like parts of it, don't like other parts of it. I... haven't felt like drawing for a while. :( Doom. Just when I told myself that I needed to draw more too. Anyway, I wanted to do this quick and see how it turns out. He's kinda fat, but otherwise I see no other huge problems. Except for how the heck I'm going to color this. It looks so pretty in my head, but... I doubt it'll come out like that. haha.

I accidentally did this on the jpeg I made of the original, so I wasn't working in as high a resolution as I would have liked. Still, it came out pretty nicely :D I don't like as much how some of the jewelry came out, and some of the coloring was pretty durr, but I like it. :)

Har. I actually drew this at work again. SHhhhh...

I actually felt pretty good about this 3/4th's of the way through, and then the last quarter... well, it didn't really crash and burn, but I finally drew the things I was afraid of drawing, and half of it came out a lot better than expected, and the other half... well... yeah. haha.

No pencils at work, by the way. I checked. None. I drew this with two pens. haha. Here's the original finished drawing.

Her hip was supposed to be sticking out, since originally she was just... standing there. Kind of static/boring for someone who's supposed to be dancing, so I tried to make her hip stick out. I already drew the skeleton in pen though, so fixing the legs was kind of weird, and it ended up looking like her hip was dislocated. haha. The cloth also could look a lot better. It looks too chunky/blobby to me. haha.

I like the way her face and arms came out though. Her feet too.

Kind of embarrassing to say so but... her breasts too. D: It's just that normally when I draw girls it just looks... not right. haha.

I liked the... IDEA of her costume that I had. It ended up looking much more bland. haha. Now that I notice it, it looks kinda like clothes from a ninja game I've been playing. Sadness. She could use more jewelry/decoration.

Overall, I really like how this picture came out. :D I've been liking how my pictures have been coming out lately, so that should mean I'll hit a pit soon and I'll suck for at least a month straight. Prepare yourself.

HAH. It appears that the more work I have, the more I like to space out from it and draw. :D

I like the way the guy at the desk came out in the lower right, and the girl on the left except for her huge head. The rest has some dumb error that I couldn't fix because of pen. I tried to draw a huge guy like the Hulk or something sitting at a desk, and his finger is too big to hit one key at a time. It didn't really come out right. haha.

Lately, my pictures haven't been to great. I haven't properly taken the time to draw something good. :( Anyway... This is Velvet, from the game Odin Sphere. Or... at least how I remembered her while I was drawing (no reference). It actually started as something else and then I drew the hair/clothes as I remembered, which isn't too accurate. haha. The longness of her face is what's mostly bothering me right now.

I've been thinking of doing a big piece of Velvet, Cornelius, and a bunch of Pookas from the game, but I haven't gotten down to it yet. I haven't gotten a good idea for their positioning on the picture either - all the things I've thought of feel a little out of character for them.

... uhhh not much to say. Her jaw at first was huge and her neck was broken. Her ear was a hot-dog and yeah. After I did some pseudo-fixes (probably best fix would've been to just start over) her posture wasn't what I wanted it to be anymore. Her left eye could also use a move to the right.

Har. I actually drew this yesterday. I've been drawing more lately, actually, but I've been too lazy to upload. Anyway, this is from something I'm doing with Diana. We're drawing people based on the alphabet - Diana starting with A (for Aviator). We're alternating so I started with B. Anyway... this is mine. B for Bard. I couldn't think of anything else that was reasonably interesting without being a joke, like Batman or Barfman or BeeFace. I drew something about 5 days ago in my mini-sketchbook, but I didn't like how it came out as much.

Anyway, I like how the guy's clothes came out. His hat ended up being kinda Cell-esque though, and I have to admit Link crossed my mind a few times while I was drawing the middle part of it. DOOMS. That's plural. For doom.

I probably didn't clean up the sketch nearly as much as I should have. :(

Har. I drew this picture with pen only, and then after I finished I decided maybe I should try coloring again. HAH. D: yeah. I kinda like how the colors came out. I accidentally drew her leg first so... her arm ended up being "transparent" or something. ( ._.)a haha. I drew this in a really small sketch book on my leg, so I messed up a good amount on lines on the left. haha.

Speaking of sketchbooks, I never really drew in them very often because I was always afraid of messing up. I feel kind of depressed not having almost no drawings in my sketch books after so many years, so I'm gonna start drawing in them like crazy. HAR.

Back to the picture... her posture came out really wrong. :D haha. I liked how the hands and feet came out though. :D Happiness.

No wai. I'm done with school. :D

No idea what I'm gonna be doing the entire summer. Kind of depressing actually, because I feel like I'll be sitting around all day. :(

Anyway... I experimented with some color pencils I found while my brother and I were reorganizing the basement. I usually don't do physical coloring, so I guess it was kinda new. This is... 2nd or 3rd time I've tried to work with color pencils.

I couldn't really get her... skin to show up darker, and I wanted her dress white. It was really hard to see everything so I tried to surround her in a darker color, and I guess it kind of worked. It's still a little hard to tell the difference between her skin and her dress. haha. ( ._.)a The hands are purposefully a blob, since I was afraid to mess up. NOES :(

Some parts of this I'm not too satisfied with, like I think her right arm is a little too big, and some other things could use proportion fixes. I can't draw... chests right. On guys or girls. Guys don't have cardboard-box-shaped torsos, and I can't get girl's chests right either. :( Anatomy study? :O

Edit: Holy crap, did I really miss out on that many days? I thought I only took a break for a day... talk about loss of sense of time. :(

... I'll refrain from posting it. :( hahaha. I actually had something planned out, but when I looked for a reference, I found a bunch of... nude male models. It was a pretty awkward moment for me. No private parts, but lots of buttocks. BUTTOCKS. And then in the end all of a sudden my sketch turned into a... fairly-not-really detailed sketch of a naked guy's back. Then I stopped.

Well, it was an interesting experience.

Haha. I dunno. Ichimoji (Guy on the right) seems strangely thin to me. His hand (it's facing the right direction, I swear) just isn't coming out right. The one he's extending behind him I mean. The two faces in the back/on top are kinda stretched too.

The picture isn't done. :( But... I'm feeling kind of tired. And hungry. The latter means I should sleep now so I can wake up for breakfast. :D haha. From my history, usually if I don't finish a picture within one sitting, the chances of it being finished later are fairly small. Still, I'll probably try to pick it back up tomorrow. :O I like how it's coming out. Especially Hana in the lower left. She was drawn first. Figures. Everything I draw first usually comes out better than the stuff I try to accompany with it. :(

Oh yeah. openCanvas died on me. :( It happened after I tried using openCanvas 3.03, and then after that it crashes on me sometimes when I try to save using openCanvas 4.06. :( :( :( It's SUPER SADFACE when that happens, because sometimes I draw for like half an hour without stopping to save, and then when it DIES. It sucks, especially when I like how it's coming out - which is usually why I'm drawing for so long without saving in the first place. DEATH

Therefore I'm reverting to old-school pencil and paper until I can either fix it, reformat, or try to get Photoshop to do the same effects, which it doesn't seem like it likes doing. D:

I should be getting back to my regular schedule. I might draw more and more crappy pictures though, since sometimes I don't feel too much like trying, and if I push myself too hard on it then I'll lose interest.

Lately, I've been at a loss for what to draw. So... I try to do something that comes to my head first.

So... tonight, I felt like eating. BUT IT WAS SO LATE. Like... at 11:30. I have this thing where I don't eat at least 3 hours before I sleep (otherwise I heard you get fat? D:) So... I was like hmm.... eating... that's like... GLUTTONY. So... I drew Full Metal Alchemist's Gluttony. HAAHAHAHA. =_=

Do you like how he's pointing at you? :D hehehehehe.

I figured drawing him would be a nice change of things. It's kind of challenging since I have to draw everything in... big proportions. Because he's... a bit overweight, you know? I guess I didn't push myself as much as I could've, seeing as how I only drew a closeup of him. It was an experience drawing his chubby face though, and I'm not so used to drawing such thick fingers on a hand. haha. I still feel like it's kind of weird (his hand that is). It originally wasn't there, but I thought I should try a little harder than that so I drew the hand. haha. Came out better than I thought it would, but there's still some things that are weird. Like his wrist.

His face was interesting to draw too. Interesting expression. :D His nose is kind of comical too.

Oh yeah, he's saying "Tabette... ii?" which means... "Can I eat it?" SO DO YOU LIKE HOW HE'S POINTING AT YOU? :D

This... is Mikan. Inamori Mika. From Manabi Straight! (aka. Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!) It's uber. She does this half-cat-like mouth all the time, and I thought it was cute, so I drew her. D: Wasn't really sure what else to draw, and it was already late, too, but I ended up working on it until 1:30 anyway, because I thought I should try something new and I did it painter-style. I couldn't bring out the mouth though so I cheated and actually drew black lines on it, and I feel like all that happened was that I made it look like she has a mustache. FAIL.

Pollen owns me. I kept trying to draw stuff in class today, but after spending more than 10 minutes outside I would get brain-dead and feel like sleeping, or I'd get a headache. It completely wiped out my brain so I couldn't think of anything interesting to draw. I'd get bored trying to draw stuff I always draw too. Anyway, I tried starting to make a comic strip, kinda a short thing, but then it kinda went HAYWIRE and I really, really didn't like where it was going, so I ditched it in the planning stage (I kinda planned it the wrong way anyway) and drew a guy POSSESSED BY A FLOWER:

Man. Normally my allergic symptoms are pretty mild, but the ground was NOTICEABLY YELLOW. There was a building where there was YELLOW DUST ALL OVER and you could tell where people walked because the dust would be pushed to the side. DOOM!

I was gonna color it but then I realized I have no idea how they heck I'd color the sweat, because I just don't know how AND because I got lucky with how it came out meaning I don't really understand why it looks ok as it is.

Doom. It's kinda late, so I drew something easy. I guess the only new thing I tried was coloring everything on one layer, which... I guess can be good, but i think is mostly BAD. HAHAHA. =_= Anyway, here it is.

Came out better than expected. I wish I drew different eyes though. It's the same that I always draw. :( I also wish this was more than just a bust, but... yeah. Easiest because I always draw busts, and usually with the face pointed slightly at an angle. HAHAHAHA. k. sleep. man. zzz.

I actually like this one. I spent forever on it! I feel like cleaning it up and coloring it, but it's so late now, and I'm kind of tired. Haha. Anyway, here it is:

Doom. I really like it, but the rifle (SVD Dragunov D:) is a bit too small. I zoomed in a bunch to draw the whole thing, most of which ENDED UP BEING ERASED. I focused a bit too much on it and I didn't do a rough sketch of it to get the right size first, so it ended up being too small. I didn't know how to cheat and blow it up on openCanvas either. :(

The thing on the left leg of the guy in front is supposed to be where the sheath of the knife is, but my design for it made it end up being... not visible. haha. =_=

Doom. I still don't feel like I'm drawing anything good. I actually drew 3 today, 1 of which I'm posting, 1 of which sucked utter crap (like that makes sense), and 1 of which I liked but couldn't complete parts of it that just completely ruined the picture. The one I liked was actually drawn using just the paintbrush tool (no lines) and I tried drawing realistically, but I didn't use a reference picture and in the end I couldn't get the eyes to look right with 10 or more tries. :(

Anyway... here's the picture I drew last.

Usually whenever I draw something, I like to challenge myself and try something new, however small or large the challenge may be. I haven't been really inspired by anything recently and I can't really think of anything challenging for myself. So... I think the only reason this picture looks mildly OK is because I didn't really force myself to draw it. If I force myself too hard to draw something, it ends up like a piece of crap. haha. =_= Anyway, I did absolutely NOTHING new on this picture, except MAYBE the hand placement, which makes her look like a MONKEY. =_= So... this picture is pretty lame. :( I don't really like the expression of the drawing.

Har. I started drawing with a group of people I met here (through someone I met in Japanese class). We do projects or themed drawings or something. haha. Anyway, we're doing RPG characters and I was assigned 4 classes, water mage, air mage, black mage, and archer. :O I'm supposed to draw a male and female for each class too. Anyway, here's the sketch. I really feel like it's not that great though, and I'm hoping that adding color will fix up a lot of things that look really plain right now. haha.
